The Operations & IT Banking Talent Programme is a fast, challenging track for recent graduates. With proper exposure, coaching and career development you will get the opportunity to show us if you have what it takes to complete the programme and become a general manager or high-value specialist within our business line.

To reach your goals quickly, we will facilitate personal and professional growth in two steps.

To find out which field suits you best, you will start with a challenging orientation phase. You will work on two different assignments in various divisions of Operations & IT Banking. In this first part of the programme you will get a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with the broad scope of our business line.

After the first phase you will be officially evaluated. Based on your performance during your projects and your participation in the mandatory trainings, a trainee review board will decide if you are qualified to continue with the next level of the programme. If you pass, you will be eligible to do an extra assignment abroad.

In the next phase you will specialise in your field of choice. You will increase your knowledge, network and skills in a two-year position, for example as:

• Project Manager
• Business Consultant
• IT specialist
• Team Manager

During the entire programme you will work on organisational renewal and infuse Operations & IT Banking with new business processes and technologies.

Although you will be on a fast track, you will stay in control of your career. You will decide the goals to aim for; we offer ample development opportunities to match your ambitions.

To join the program, you need a Masters degree. Although we prefer a technical background, we do not expect in-depth knowledge at the ‘bits and bytes level’.

Far more important is the kind of person you are. We believe in facilitating talent rather than leading people by the hand. Many chances for development will come along, so showing initiative will certainly pay off.

You will start with an extensive five-week on boarding program to familiarise yourself with ING. You will benefit from a variety of activities, including presentations from the different departments within Operation & IT Banking, language training, communication and management skills training, facility tours, e-learning, networking and discussions with senior management.

Furthermore, you will participate in a mandatory educational programme. During the programme you will master a number of fundamental skills related to presentation, positioning, communication and influence plus technical skills related to project management, Lean Six Sigma and ITIL. If you are not bilingual yet, you will participate in a Dutch language course.

And you won’t be on your own. You will benefit from active personal guidance and on-the-job coaching from your career officer from Human Resources and your first line managers. Together you will make an annual tailor-made plan of your learning activities and future career steps to help you grow. And what’s more, a senior trainee will become your sparring partner, helping you to get to know the organisation.

On top of this, you will get the chance to participate in the supplementing ING International Graduate Programme. This four-year challenge adds extra value to your career development by expanding your knowledge and international network and boosting your leadership skills.
